Mike is the firm's Senior Trial attorney responsible for the handling of major defense cases in State and Federal Courts throughout the New York Metropolitan area. He is also a frequent lecturer for the New York State Bar Association, various insurers and self insureds, fraternal organizations and schools.
Mike successfully defended Yorktown Heights School District in 1991 in one of Court TV's initial presentations. The case involved the alleged violation of a student's civil rights based on a claim that he was improperly denied membership in the school's honor society. The case was followed closely in the New York Times and in addition to having the action dismissed, the court granted the firm's application for attorney's fees which were not commonly awarded at that time.
With a concentration on construction accident cases involving The New York Labor Law, Mike heads the New York City team that specializes in such matters.
In addition to his litigation experience, Mike is involved with regulatory work in the elevator industry for one of our self insured clients.
In the public sector, he is General Counsel for the New York City Police, Steuben Society, Nassau County Police, Steuben Society and Grand Counsel of Steuben Associations in Civil Service for the State of New York. Mike is also a life member of the National Eagle Scout Association.
