After being admitted to the New York State Bar in 1973, Mr. Sidney actively tried many cases as staff counsel for Safeco Insurance Company, in all venues within the City of New York , Long Island , Westchester and upstate counties. He continued trying significant personal injury cases as a Senior Associate attorney for CIGNA (formerly Insurance Company of North America) from 1982-1991.

In 1989, he became admitted to the California Bar and became the Attorney of Record for CIGNA in 1991 and remained so until 1999 supervising 22 staff attorneys in defending all assureds within Nassau , Suffolk and Queens Counties on Long  Island .

In 1999, Mr. Sidney joined Ahmuty, Demers and McManus as a partner and an active litigator, trying many significant personal injury actions to conclusion, including defending labor law accidents, products liability, asbestos,  automobile, premises and school liability cases.

Mr. Sidney has acted as Court Appointed Mediator in Supreme Court/Nassau County, lectured to the Nassau County Bar Association CLE  and given seminars to claims representatives and risk managers of insurance companies during his career spanning more than 30 years.
