Internal Audit Unit

The Internal Audit Unit within our firm consists of an individual with over 20 years of claim/legal experience.

William J. Bearese is a former CIGNA Claims Supervisor with over 23 years experience.

His role is to insure the litigation procedures of our carrier clients are adhered to and over all quality of each individual attorney meets or exceeds standards.

WILLIAM J. BEARESE

Bill has an extensive insurance casualty claims background having started with INA/CIGNA as an inside claims examiner upon graduation from St. John’s University in 1974, with a degree in Business Administration – Management.

From 1975 to 1978 he handled all aspects of litigated and non-litigated bodily claims. In 1978 he was promoted to supervisor and was in charge of a unit of seven claims professionals. In this capacity he facilitated the collection and analysis of data on TEAM performance to identify opportunities for continued improvement. Bill was accountable, in his position, for ensuring effective loss dollar management and customer service.

Recognizing Bill’s skills in management functions and his strong background in the areas of law that are our primary focus, the firm brought him in to work with Jack Rutherford on the Internal Audit Unit in 1997.
