Municipal Liability

We are actively engaged in representing various towns, villages, fire departments and other municipal entities with respect to claims brought under the Civil Rights Statutes, land use and environmental issues.

Robert J. Hindman who heads up the group has had extensive experience with respect to zoning issues that result in litigation. He is also involved in high profile federal court actions with varying issues, including housing and employment related discrimination claims.

Our goal is to resolve the litigation in the most cost effective manner while still protecting the interests of our municipal client. We are prepared to try cases at any level and have successfully argued in the Appellate Courts on behalf of our clients. Often we are called upon to meet with the officials of the town and to make presentations before the town board and/or the presiding officer in the town or village. Representation also involves working closely with the legal department of each entity and being in a position to exchange ideas and to develop strategy which will result in a successful resolution.
